Andrés Galarza (Ecuador)

Andrés Galarza is an Ecuadorian film director, cinematographer and screenwriter. He studied filmmaking and audiovisual production at the Film and Acting Institute (INCINE) in Quito and cinematography at the Escuela Cinematográfica Argentina (ECA) film school in Buenos Aires. He studied fiction feature film screenwriting at the Film and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (ESCAC) in Barcelona and has also completed several studies in acting training and creation. Andrés works as an audiovisual and stage director and has been teaching directing, cinematography and screenwriting at INCINE since 2011.

Banda de pueblo [co-written with Mauricio Benítez] Cornelio, the youngest member of the band, does not want to play the bass drum as successor to Ramón, his dying father. The whole band fights to save him even though Ramón does not agree with the way to do it.
