Cathia Cuevas (Mexico)

Born in Tijuana, Cathia Cuevas is a local producer and researcher for international television channels such as BBC, National Geographic and the Discovery Channel. She has worked on shows such as México Salvaje, One Strange Rock and Lost Cities, and in movies with renowned film directors such as Alfonso Cuarón, Tatiana Huezo, Gael García Bernal, Darren Aronofsky and the Wachowski sisters. She is currently developing original content with the production company Telegrama Audiovisual and writing her debut feature film, Luces en el cielo.

Luces en el cielo — Tecate, 1990. Chris, a 13-year-old girl, lives with a family in which her father believes that the extraterrestrial beings he saw 15 years ago will return. Isolated from society, Chris lives in a village with a religious group she struggles to belong to, until one day the creatures show up and reveal the true face of their new friends, putting the lives of her loved ones at risk.
