Juan Pablo Villavicencio Borges (Mexico)

Juan Pablo Villavicencio Borges holds a B.A. in Filmmaking from the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) in Mexico City. He is the director, screenwriter and producer of several short films that have participated in national and international festivals, such as the Vancouver International Film Festival, the Miami Short Film Festival, the Chicago Latino Film Festival, the Morelia International Film Festival and the Guanajuato International Film Festival, among many others. He combined his two passions, filmmaking and teaching, by creating a filmmaking workshop for middle and high school, which he taught for 10 years. Juan Pablo is the founder of the production company and educational project cineStudio, which seeks to bring theoretical and practical knowledge, together with a perspective of film analysis and understanding, to young people and film enthusiasts from around the world.

Estaré After the loss of his father in a car accident, Juan, a 14-year-old teenager, moves with his mother to a town south of Mexico City. Afraid of forgetting his father, he spends his days listening to music while being invaded by memories of the accident.
