Mauricio Laguna Cardozo is a Colombian screenwriter and filmmaker born in Ibagué. Mauricio is the co-writer of the animated film Las aventuras de Nuku
, which had its world premiere at the 2016 Cartagena International Film Festival and was screened at the Barranquilla International Film Festival and the Animation Day in Cannes, among other festivals. His feature film project La diva
won a writing grant in 2016 from the Colombian Film Development Fund (FDC). Mauricio studied social communication and journalism at the Universidad Externado in Colombia and multimedia creation at the University of Los Andes, and he is a candidate of the Master in Audiovisual Screenwriting at the International University of La Rioja (UNIR).
Mauricio is the recipient of the 2017 Cine Qua Non Lab-Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM) Prize, awarded by Cine Qua Non Lab in collaboration with BAM, the FDC and Proimágenes Colombia, for his project La diva.
