Octavio Rodríguez

Script Revision Lab in Spanish

Octavio Rodríguez studied journalism at the Andrés Bello Catholic University in Caracas, and filmmaking at the National Audiovisual School (ENSAV) in Toulouse, France, and at the University of Cinema Film School (FUC) in Buenos Aires. His career spans Europe and Latin America and his work includes independent feature films, video projects and children’s television shows. His short film Histoire d’un tango (2012) was selected to represent ENSAV at the Short Film Corner of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. His feature documentary El corazón de Caracas (2014) won the Municipal Award for Best Documentary and was screened in London, Havana and Saint-Étienne. Octavio is currently developing his fiction debut feature, El hijo de la serpiente, a dark fantasy inspired by forbidden legends of the Colombian Andes, a project with which he participated in Cine Qua Non Lab’s 2019 Script Revision Lab and in the 2021 Fantasolab script workshop for Ibero-American fantastic films.
